EXCURSIONS IN KIEV

In Kiev you can see more than 30 architectural styles of different eras from the time of Kievan Rus in the 11^thcentury to the present day and all are architecturally unique to Ukraine. From Byzantine architecture, through Ukrainian baroque, Soviet realism to 21^st century designs, you will see them all as you walk through the main districts of the city. 

Do you know how many bridges are in Kiev? If not, don’t worry, because very few even from Kiev can answer this question, even approximately. It turns out that they are not less than 70. Another interesting fact is that the bridges across the Dniper River in Kiev appeared only recently. This is because the Dniper river was once much wider, which gave rise to the famous expression by the Ukrainian author Gogol that "not every bird will fly to the middle of the Dniper River"

   The House with Chimeras is the most famous and ridiculous architectural mansion in Kiev. It can only be visited by prearranged tour. It is located across the street from the Presidential office and is now used exclusively for hosting major summits. This early 20th century building has unique exterior architecture and interior decoration that has to be seen to be believed.
