Today after reconstruction, the Maxim Rylskyi literary-Memorial Museum of Kiev has been opened. The museum started to welcome its visitors on on 4, May, 1966.
Kiev Authority congratulated friends and relatives of Rylskyi on 40 years anniversary of opening the museum and finishing the restoration-works. The ceremony was opened by a director of the Main Departmament of Culture and art Alexander Bystrushkin. He defined in his speech that the opening of the museum should have brought benefits to the youth, firstly. "Why is it so prestigious to know by heart at least one or two poems of those poets who represent social ideas?" - he put a rhetorical question. He claims that the work must be done to popularize Ukrainian poetry and the centre of it must be the literary-memorial museum of Kiev. "it has been passed 40 years sine the museum was opened, - a secretary of the National Writer Union Anatolyi Pogrebnoi said - we connect everything that is going on now with the finishing of the Spring of Poetry in Kiev but I would like this Spring to last forever, and, maybe, we will organize such sort of events not only on Kiev level but also we will organize the best celebration of the Spring of Poetry in the Ukraine. Let Maxim Rylskyi help us". "This place (the Maxim Rylskyi museum) is one of Kiev pearls. Coming here, the youth of Kiev has an opportunity to remember and most importantly to keep in mind about that hard work which had been done by Rylskyi and many other Ukrainian poets.
