Godskitchen Urban Wave 2010, March 13 | 12.03 |
Godskitchen Urban Wave festival is coming to Kyiv again, this time ready to entertain local clubbers with sets from celebrated electronic music stars ATB and Benny Benassi, as well as Spartaque, Chief_MC, Denis Dynamite and Urban Wave contest winners.
German deejay Andre Tanneberger, ranked No. 4 in the international The DJ List, started his solo project, ATB, in 1998. His debut track “9pm (Till I Come)” topped the UK charts in 1999 and was widely regarded the first top trance music hit in the country. ATB continued regularly releasing music in Germany and other European countries, and made a few more big hits such as “Don’t Wanna Stop” and “You’re Not Alone” (cover of Olive’s 1996 hit). The deejay has released eight albums to date, including one compilation record “Seven Years: 1998-2005.”
Italian electro house producer and deejay Benny Benassi (born Marco Benassi) has been working in electronic music scene since 1980s but was propelled to worldwide fame only in 2002 when his major hit “Satisfaction” reached the top of almost every dance chart and was constantly played on every radio and music TV channel. In 2003 Benassi released his debut album “Hypnotica” and soon afterwards he formed a group with his cousin Alle, called Benassi Bros. His previous collaborators – the Biz duo – provided vocals for the group.
Thus two of his following albums were released as Bennasi Bros., while Benassi’s latest “Rock’n’Rave” (2008) became another solo work. Benassi is known as a master of remixes – his version of Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise” won a Grammy for Best Remix in 2008. Other famous remixes of his include Britney Spears’ “Womanizer,” “Ooh La La” by Goldfrapp, Madonna’s “Celebration” and “Did it Again” by Shakira.
International Expo Center (Livoberezhna metro station). March 13, 9 p.m. Tickets Hr 240-500. For more information, go to www.godskitchen.net.ua.
