On April 7-8 UEFA’s officials headed by president Michel Platini will visit Ukraine host cities Lviv,
Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv to get a closer look of the preparation to the championship.
"UEFA President’s visit will take place following the decision of UEFA Executive Committee on the 11th of December in 2009 that confirmed host-cities in Ukraine. The visit aims to familiarize UEFA with the pace Ukraine set to prepare to European Championship. So it is extremely important to demonstrate to UEFA delegation a positive dynamic infrastructure and to confirm the willingness and ability for successful EURO 2012 staging, " told the tournament director “EURO 2012 Ukraine” Markiyan Lubkivskyi.
On April 7 Platini will commence his inspection in Lviv, where he will examine the airport reconstruction, stadium construction and hear host-city presentation in the Pototskiy Palace. After that he will chair a breifing.
The Donetsk program includes visits to the airport and Donbas Arena stadium and the ensuing press conference.
On April 8 UEFA delegation will pay their visit to Kharkiv to get a closer look at the local airport and Metalist stadium.
The same day football high ranking officials return to Kyiv where Boryspil airport and NSC Olympiyskyy will get under the spotlight. After Michel Platini meets Viktor Yanukovych, UEFA president will makes a press statement.
