President hopes government will propose realistic reforms for coal industry in 2009 | 2008.31.08
The head of state said in an interview with journalists in Krasnoarmiysk, Donetsk region on Friday that the Coal Ministry, executive authorities and coal directorates had so far paid little attention to reforming the coal sector.
"The Ukrainian government and the Coal Ministry must do everything to improve today what we have been speaking about for years. This is what is currently necessary for miners, the coal industry and the state," Yuschenko said, adding that he will do his best to finish the next year effectively.
According to the president, private investors should play a key role in reform of Ukraine's coal industry.
