Dukat gallery is holding a pre-auction exhibition of 20th century Ukrainian artists.
Among them are emigrant artists of Ukrainian origin, artists of the non-conformist trend of the 1960s-80s and modern Ukrainian artists, who emerged in the latter decades of the 20th century. The highlights of the exhibition include: David Burlyuk (1882-1967), founder of Ukrainian futurism; Yakiv Shapiro, one of the founders of Parisian La Ruche (Beehive), a hostel for writers; and another of its famous residents, Pinchus Kremegne (1890-1981). The first half of the 20th century is represented by Vasyl Khmelyuk (1903-1986), Abram Minchyn (1898-1931), and Lazar Volovyk (1902-1977), among others. David Tykholuz and Oleksandr Anufriyev represent the non-conformist trend, and, finally, the Ukrainian contemporary art segment of the exhibition includes works by modern icons Oleksandr Roytburd, Vladyslav Shereshevsky, Matviy Vaysberg, Maksym Mamsikov, Vlada Ralko, Oleksandr Zhyvotkov, Oleksiy Apollonov, Olena Pryduvalova, Leonid Bernat, Eduard Belsky and Lev Markosyan, among others.
