A Cold War Time Capsule

During the cold war 176 nuclear missile launching silos were located at remote bases throughout Ukraine; all were destroyed except for the one complex located at the Nuclear Missile Museum.

On display above-ground are several missile types including the huge 10-warhead SS-18 ICBM and a range of highly specialized vehicles used for transporting and fueling nuclear armed missiles.

The highlight of the tour is an unforgettable visit to the launch center and living quarters; you will walk through tunnels and bomb proof doors and take the elevator 12-floors down (45 meters) to the command center to see how the base operated and the soldiers lived.

   The House with Chimeras is the most famous and ridiculous architectural mansion in Kiev. It can only be visited by prearranged tour. It is located across the street from the Presidential office and is now used exclusively for hosting major summits.
